This is the story of and 85 CJ that went from a bone stock hunting Jeep to my mud toy and daily driver. At the moment I'm a freshman at the University of Florida (the Jeep should give it away lol) which tells everyone one thing, NO CASH! I bought this Jeep off my dad when I turned 16 for $2000 and have dumped all the money I could into it since. Right now I just have the pics from my driveway but it's seen LOTS of mud (that's all we've got in Florida) and I'll have some more pics once I getter dirty again.
Now for the mods that I've scrounged up to buy. I've got a 2 inch shackle lift paired with a 4 in Tuff Country suspension lift with extended shocks. After spinning a hub with the inferior 2 piece rear axles, I've upgraded to Superior 1-piece axles turning 33 inch mudders. To help with the power, there's a MSD Offroad Ignition system under the hood. And to make way for tools and supplies, the back seat's been ditched and replaced with a homemade wooden lock-box which also works as a water-proof stereo enclosure. Also, around the exterior, there's some diamond plating to cover some rust holes and add some protection and a 48" High Lift jack bolted to the swing out tire carrier.
Some mods I just finished this past month!

Nice CJ. It's always great to see fellow CJ owners putting elbow grease and time into what is truly the best Jeeps. Nothing beats a well built CJ! I have an 84 CJ that I have been working on for the past 4 years. If you get a chance to check mine out,..let me know what you think. Keep up the great work.

Wow! That is one great looking ride; I think you have done a great job working on it. I started working on my jeep several years ago and it has since turned out to look pretty nice, whats going to be your next modification? Keep me posted!

Great writeup and great Jeep. I pick my "new" CJ-7 up in about 2 weeks, also an '85. She has the 4.0L head conversion already done, plus a Mopar FI, Borla Header and MagnaFlow Exhaust. I'm super excited.
