CoastGuardZ’s Datsun 240Z

    • Currently 3.6/5 Stars.

CoastGuardZ's 1972 Datsun 240Z This is my 1972 Datsun 240Z. The color code is 918 Orange. The car is the original color, but not the original paint.
So I forgot all about this page and when I "re-found" it 3 years had passed by. I've scrapped the whole thing and started from scratch.

CoastGuardZ's 1972 Datsun 240Z This is how it all started. I searched to find the perfect Z for about 3 and half years. It had to be a '72... it had to have been orange with black interior and the 4spd manual.

CoastGuardZ's 1972 Datsun 240Z Then I came across the mechanical love of my life... Kikka, Japanese Orange Blossom. I purchased her from the original owner in Southern California. She was pretty much stock when I took delivery, some of that I am changing but all of which will be reversible so that I can take her back to completely stock if my taste should change.

CoastGuardZ's 1972 Datsun 240Z Original parts include... Original Engine Block, Head, Carbs, Transmission, Rear End... all that at 286,000 miles. Currently the Z is sitting at just over 295,000 miles.

CoastGuardZ's 1972 Datsun 240Z I drove her around for awhile just to get used to her and her quirks and then I started with the repairs and enhancements.

Wow!! long time no see. How ya been. What happened to the Red Z, or am I confused? Got my vote, very nice, keep it up. I'll let you know when the 260Z is finished. We're shooting for MSA or Canby but the funds are slowing the project down. Later, Dave.
