This is my 1969 Pontiac Beaumont. It's basically a Canadian version of the Chevy chevelle. It shares most of its parts with the chevelle and some stuff like the dash is from the lemans/gto. The engine and drivetrain is all chevy though. Personally, i like this design better than either the chevelle or gto. I think they took the best parts from each. And the fact that it's made right here in Canada makes me like it even more.

Some details on the car:
1969 pontiac beaumont custom 2 door coupe with bucket seats and no ac ( i don't care because i prefer driving with the windows down).
Originally, the car had a 307 with a 2 speed powerglide in it. The previous owner put in a chevy 327 engine when he did a minor restoration in the early 90s. Basically he rebuilt the engine and front end and gave the car a forest green paint job. I was able to get the car off him for a cheap price since he had a baby on the way and the wife wanted to move into a nicer place and they were desperate to find a buyer. The guy had tears in his eyes when I drove off with it and burnt rubber right in front of his place lol.

I've had the car for about 6 years now, and since I've bought it, I redid the front discs and rear drums, installed a rebuilt 700R4 4 speed transmission with a shift kit, 2200 torque converter and a B&M shifter, fixed a number of electrical problems on the car (nothing worked when I bought it and the battery kept on dying). I switched the oil pan to a moroso 7 quart street/strip pan and installed a set of hooker headers and flowmaster 40 series mufflers. I also switched the old radiator to a new aluminum one and hooked up a transmission cooler and a thermostatically controlled fan i got off an old van. I just installed new tubular upper and lower rear control arms, frame braces and a 1 1/8" anti sway bar and 4 new Bilstein shocks last week. What a difference in the ride! I'll tackle the coils and front control arms soon.

Lately I've been working on the interior (pics coming soon). I'm redoing it all in black. So far I've recovered all the seats and it looks great.

In the near future:

replace all the body bushings (they've never been changed since the car came out of the factory

new carpet, door panels, headliner

re-wire the entire car from A-Z

Thanks bigbad4runner. In 1969, these Beaumonts were available with an in-line 6, 307, 350, 396 or a 427. They used an all chevrolet mechanics from the engine all the way to the differential.

Nice ride, I have a 1969 Beaumont convertible that has been converted to an SS396 Chevelle that I am trying to find a new home for. Hope you can help. robnjapan@yahoo.com
