Jason’s Chevrolet Camaro

  • Currently 3/5 Stars.

Here is my 95 camaro that I compete with in the 151-300 class in USAC mostly and IASCA when there is a show around. Next year probably in the middle of the year the car will probably move to the 301-600 watt class. I started tha car in Feb 1999, It's pretty muche done except for a few things here and there or at least till I add the two new amps. HOPE YOU LIKE IT!!!

Providing power for the system is a red top Optima........WELL it was a red top!
For source unit I used the Alpine 7940 and below a Kicker KQ5 preamp. The units were trimed in black ABS to keep somewhat of a stock look and to stay consistant with surroundings. Custom brackets were built to mount the two pieces as the Metra kit was only good for a single source. I spent a Saturday and Sunday working on those brackets and believe me you could not pull the player out with a tow truck!
Here we have what used to be the ash tray now houses the sub volume control and a switch for the cooling fans.
Moving on down the signal path we have a Coustic XM3E in the center console again trimed in black ABS to stay consistant with surroundings. Notice the piece is now chrome!!
Another shot of the crossover.
Under the dash on the drivers side we have an Autotek 7005 half octave EQ. This piece was installed welding 1/8 inch steel brackets under the dash attached to that is a sliding mechanism that allows the EQ to be slid in and out freely to allow for easy adjustments during a show. The brackets were painted to match the car as they do show. Again notrice this piece is also chrome!!
Here we have a pretty crummy pic of the interior of the car. Anyway the point was to check out the EQ under the dash is now completly concealed. And there are the kicks that house the Dynaudio System 240. WOW are those things pointing all different directions....but thats the way they sounded best!!!
Here is a close up of the kicks (ye ha that's a seven inch driver!!!) They were made as large as I would allow without getting tacky looking but not too small to sacrifice performance. The kicks were also ported with a 4 inch in diameter port to the outside of the car. Dyn recomends that the back wave leave the car.....SO IT DOES!
And the passanger side
In stealth mode
