Ok, lesse, I purchased this guy here in late fall of '99 with the help of my gracious father. At this time I learned of this p/u's less than illustrious history. The first owner essentially beat the crap out of it: raced it, off-roaded with it, etc. all while disregarding essential maintenance. In fact, it got so bad that the second owner had to replace the engine due to lack of oil upkeep. The main reason that the second owner ended up with the vehicle though is that the first owner was rear-ended and instead of repairing, decided to sell, luckily.
The second owner was a God-send for this Ram. He replaced the blown engine, replaced the NV3500, and replaced the rear axle. He also did half of the customizing as well. He also added the roll pan (cheaper than a bumber), did all the chrome, the fender flares, and the Rancho lift. This made for a sharp looking p/u. Though it wasn't as good as it sounds. If you look closely enough you can see that the flares were screwed into the fender >:( the rockers are beginning to peel off, and where the original toolbox was (before I got a better one) he had screwed it into the bed rails.
I could almost feel sorry for this guy. Seems that his entire life has been full of abuse or half-assed-ness. Thus it now falls to me to give this Ram the ownership it deserves. The way it came to me was that the second owner supposedly wanted a longbed to haul his horse trailer. *Shrugs* for whatever reason it was it's mine now, and as the money comes in I'm doing my best to work on it.
