Locos Mocos NV2007

Started out in Mojave heading out towards Last Chance Canyon

The first carnage came when one of the prerunners busted a leaf spring and twisted a driveshaft in two during a hill climb.

A group of us stayed back to fix the his truck while another group went to a few junk yards to aquire the parts, the rest headed up the trail. We all met up in Goler Wash then proceeded through Mengal Pass. Lost the first vehicle when his shock mounts busted off, then in Furnace Creek another had to leave after he noticed a busted suspension mount. On the way to Beatty Nevada, another lost a left rear wheel. It took almost a half hour just location it in the dark. The next day we headed out to Rhyolite Ghost town.

From there we went to Scotty's Castle

Then headed out toward the Race Track where a friend of mine totaled his 4Runner, when he collided into the back of another prerunner.

After a long track out we packed up Lance's rig on a trailer and stayed in Lone Pine for the night.

Locos Mocos NV2005

This was a fun trip, but the weekend before I busted a jackshaft out in Johnson's Valley going up Claw Hammer. I figured the run was 2WD friendly so didn't expect to need 4WD, boy was I wrong.

Camping up near Bishop on the way up, then a bit of trout fishing...

We hit a snag on one of the trails and took nearly 4 hours to get everyone through the mud.....

All of our camping was done inside hotel rooms due to the wet weather.....

The carnage I had during this trip included almost rolling over the first day on the trails. Not having 4WD forced me to go 3WD with the front locker engaged during the mud fiasco, this in turn caused me to overheat my power steering pump, damaging it after boiling out the fluid. Not sure when it happened, but my rear ring and pinion gears busted a few teeth off. Finally driving home of the 5 freeway I blew a rear shock.
