The following pages will serve to chronicle the buildup of my 2004 Dodge neon SRT-4. You will be able to see the car go from showroom stock to the way it sits present day. This is the beginning and to follow the progress start here and follow it to page 1.
I was a finance manager at a Dodge store so I was pretty familiar with the SRT-4 since it came out. The major drawback to purchasing a 2003 was its lack of a LSD for the drive wheels. In 2004 Dodge gave the SRT-4 both a Quaife LSD and larger injectors. This sealed the deal for me.
I purchased my SRT-4 shortly after selling my 2002 Subaru WRX. I loved the AWD and overall feel of the car but the transmission was at a point where it was extremely unreliable at the car?s power level (350whp & 340ft-lbs). On March 12, 2004 I drove my SRT-4 home and haven?t looked back.

I had the following day off work so I drove down to the dyno to get a baseline. I was happily surprised to see the car put down 226whp & 251ft-lbs all the while running super rich at 10:1. Not bad considering Dodge only rates the car at 230hp and 250ft-lbs at the crank. I could tell this car would be a good platform to make some decent power out of.

Just for reference, Motor Trend tested the 2004 SRT-4 at:
0-60mph: 5.5 sec
?: 14.0@102.7
60-0: 112 ft
Who keeps their cars stock anyway!? On to the modifications!
