Thanks for checking in on the latest transformation of my SRT-4. The journey begins on page 9 with the day I brought it home and progresses towards page 1 (this page). I will continue to update the site when something significant happens and I have time.
I finally picked up the car with the new Darrell Cox Racing automatic transmission in it. It took a little tweaking but I think I really like this thing. It's a three speed auto with a lockup converter (kind of like a fourth gear). The benefit of an automatic transmission will be realized at the drag strip with a huge reduction in 60ft times and thus lower ET's.
I also picked up some new rims. They are ASA AR-1's 17x8 black with a polished lip. They are shod with 235/45/17 Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position tires. Take a look...
Last but not least, I had a new turbo installed and sold the 50 trim. The new unit is what AGP turbo calls the GT3775 in a .82 A/R turbine housing. It's a 67mm T04R compressor wheel with a GT37/T350 turbine wheel in a 4 bolt .82 turbine housing. It has a 4" inlet 2.5" outlet on the compressor housing in an S cover.
Needless to say, this turbo flows much more air than my old turbo. Because of this, I was limited to about 22psi before I ran out of fuel. This turbo is meant to push 30+ psi so the car is currently under the knife getting an upgrade to the fuel system by the way of an aeromotive 1000hp fuel pump and fuel pump controller.
Stay tuned because once I tune the car back in with the added fuel and boost I plan on hitting the track again and getting that 10 second timeslip that has been a long time coming!
