1977 Chrysler Cordoba - After body & paint shop! Body & paint was one by Godfrey Auto Works in Baltimore MD c/o Willie Godfrey. The car was generally in good shape with a small dent below the right door, some minor rust on the lower left trunk deck, and then just 27 years of parking lot dings and dangs. So that was all fixed and it was re-painted the original color and the yellow stripe was added so it didn't look like Grandma's Cordoba with Cragars! I'D REALLY LIKE TO KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OF THE YELLOW STRIPE . . .

The car was bought new in December 1976 [S/N SS22J7R119956] from a dealer in Antioch, California. It was kept garage kept & maintained by the owner and driven by the mother until 1991 when she became ill; then, it was driven less and less until she died in 2003. I got it from a broker on e-bay in July 2004. Once I get some new "rubber" for the bumpers I'll be really happy (they're not in bad shape, but they have seen the test of time).

Now - had I owned the car in 1977 (when I was 17/18) I think I may have gotten into trouble with it . . .

The 360-4bbl engine ran great; even better once I tuned it up and got rid of the catalytic converters, ran a new exhaust system, and put on the FlowMaster Delta 40 muffler! I wanted to put on dual exhaust but I was told that the gas tank being offset to the left made it difficult and it was not recommended ---- could be done, but not recommended. It runs and sounds great! Then I put on an Edelbrock carburetor [EDL-1806 "Thunder Series AVS" @ 650CFM - You will also need the adapter from spread bore to square bore, Chrysler throttle lever adapter, and the 1/4" transmission kickdown road - the folks at Summit are great and will help you out] and what a difference that makes! It still loves to use he gas (10mpg-12mpg but it runs great . . . you didn't get into this to save gas did you?)
So . . . now, I just enjoy the car about once a month for a "Sunday drive" and fix/modify what I can without any great rush.

EVERYBODY NEEDS A LITTLE HELP IN THE SHOP
One day, I was contacted by NATIONWIDE CUTIES asking me to let them use the car for a photo shoot Why not?
But - the best "ego stroker" occurred when Tiffany Sparkles wanted to use the car for a photo shoot! As you look at the picture, don't cringe too much --- her husband and I picked her up and carefully placed her on the hood of the car ---- took the pictures --- and carefully removed her from the hood (she was placed on a length of black material, too).

*** I have more pictures of the car and of her but I wanted to "keep it clean" for this site; contact me if you'd like to see more.
THANKS FOR LOOKING --- LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!
