The Story of Piranha's "Lil PTC"
It was "love at first sight", when I saw the first pictures of the PT Cruiser in an auto zine. My next question was, "But, will they really build it ?" Months later, I was pleased to learn that DC would indeed build the retro rod. Once ads started coming out, I was quick to sign-up at the PT Enthusiasts website to get as much information about the car as possible. After they started showing up in showrooms in March of 2000, I just HAD to check it out for myself. I was NOT disappointed!
After spending two weeks asking around at dealerships, I was bummed out to see that they were charging anywhere from $3-$10K OVER sticker price. A 50% markup on a $20K car ?!?! I finally found 1 dealership (Moothart Chrysler in Cerritos) that was selling them just for MSRP. The only catch was, you had to custom order your car, and wait... and WAIT... AND WAIT!!! Almost NINE months to the day, my "baby" was FINALLY delivered!
I've been customizing and tweaking it ever since, getting ideas from other PT owners at the Sonic and Carney's club meets. During my LOOOONG wait for the car, I satisfied my PT appetite by amassing PT toys and collectibles, so much so that I started writing the "Toying Around" articles for PTE Cruisin' and later Cruiser Quarterly magazines.

These pictures were taken in front of an old English style church over by where I live... It's used at least twice a month for filming... You may have seen it on West Wing, JAG, or in commercials...
