Revamped the system a bit. Now I'm running a full Alphasonik system. Pictures next week hopefully.

Happy belated new year! I got the lower grille from Precision Grille, looks sweet. Also, I'm now running a VRX755VD Clarion touchscreen DVD player. 7.4" flipout screen, 24 bit d/a converters, 4V preouts, and it's also Sirius/Ipod ready. Great source unit for a nice system. The Clarion DVH940 5.1 surround DSP controller is on order, should arrive at the end of February. I have a set of clarion 6.5" midranges I'm going to drop into the rear deck, a box of Dynamat extreme to get all over the car (I can see my garage time add up already), either add another Diamond D3 amp or just get a 4 channel matching Directed amp, not sure what yet. Center channel speaker is up in the air. Clarion SRK5 maybe?

12-15-05 NEW!!!!! Custom grille from Precision Grille. Took about 2.5 hours of cutting and customization to the factory grille, but looking at my car, I think it was worth it. True billet, not that cheap plastic ebay knockoff crap.

My I-4 Sonata isn't geared much in the way of performance, more of sound n style. Basics like a K&N drop-in filter, Optima RedTop battery, Falken Ziex 512 rubbers, and NGK Iridium IX plugs have been used to improve performance nominally. I've run Stinger 4AWG wire to a Lightning Audio SCC25 16v (20v surge) Carbon capacitor with 25 farad (yes, twenty-five) capacitance to round off the power. The source unit is a Clarion VRX755VD DVD head unit (with 24 bit D/A converters, 4V pre-outs, and touchscreen control), with DVH940 Digital Sound Processor. Through the jacketed, twisted pair RCAs, the music runs to a Diamond D3 400.2 amp supplying 100x2 wRMS to Diamond Audio D6 6.5 components in the front doors. The comps utilize the Diamond D661X crossovers with tweeters attenuated -2dB. The Sub-Out RCA runs to a Directed Audio d2400 amp (pushing 800 watts RMS @ 2 ohm mono), powering an Eclipse Audio 12" DVC (handling 1000wRMS) in a custom slot-vented box.

Slick Sonata! looks like it could use some rims.. I had Spinners on mine that I'm trying to sell and I'm sure they'd look nice on yours! Maybe if you're interested you can take a look at my page.. keep up the great job!

Well...now you need to come by and see how I dropped it all in! The Boss Audio/SPL combo is gone and I also dropped some Sony Xplods in the back to match the fronts. I didn't go with the cut out idea, but I did remove the black cloth on the underside of the rear speaker grills so you can look down and see the speakers through the window. The PG sub...man, let me tell you...it's AWESOME!!! The clarity of the whole set up is very nice. I don't even have to turn it up to make it heard. Hell, on 5...you can hear it down the block!!! On 10, with the windows down, doing 80 on the highway...the bass is clear and the steering column shakes!!! *grin* Let me know what you think of my new set up!!!

Hey man...I like the way you cut away the factory grill to show off the mids in the front door. I've been wondering all this time how that would look. I'm currently in the middle of upgrading what I have now. I have a Boss Audio amp pushing an SPL 10", but that's changing...I've picked up a Kenwood KAC-7202 amp and it will be pushing a Phoenix Gold 10" in a custom box. I replaced the fronts with some Sony Xplods and the rears are next. I do know that with the SPL's the Phoenix Gold sub will be pushing, I have to put some baffles around the rears so they aren't distorted in any way. Good luck!
