What to do with a car like this? Luckily I now live about 20 miles from Road Atlanta (a popular North American road course) and about 20 miles from Atlanta Dragway (1/4 mile drag strip). I couldn't avoid these motorsports if I tried!

Track Events:

My absolutely favorite thing to do with my car is attend High Performance Drivers Education events, or HPDE's. These events take place on road courses, some of the same race tracks as major road course racing series such as ALMS and Speed World Challenge.

I started doing track events in May 2003 and had an absolute blast! For the cost of a track day, there is no $200 mod you can put on your car that will allow you to go faster than improving your driving skill will. If you can't afford a track event, then you can't afford a $300 go-fast part for your car. These events will make you a MUCH better and safer driver, and will teach you a lot about your cars behavior at the limits. Did I mention they are fun too?!?

Tracks I have driven:
- Road America with TrackTime
- Gateway Raceway with Phil Wicks Driving Academy
- Road Atlanta with Panoz track days and Peachtree BMWCCA
- MSR (Texas Motorsport Ranch) with Lone Star BMWCCA

Drag Racing:

Just for grins, I even went to the drag strip once. Had a lot of fun! Best time was a 14.39 @ 96.6 mph. Not too bad for my first time out and a slipping clutch. My clutch has since been replaced and I plan on a return visit in the spring once the local drag strip opens.

Hornswoggler's 1997 BMW M3 My best timeslip. 14.39 @ 96.6 mph. 2.195 60' time.

Hornswoggler's 1997 BMW M3 This Integra just had to lose. They are always trying to nip at the heels of the M3 (same with IS300 and Prelude owners). All in good fun :-)

Hi Collin. Nice ride. Funny how going ove things, we've ended up with several similar mods, some identical, RGR's, Koesi's, etc. Even started off with XR4Ti's, I had over 5 of them!!!

Anyway, like what you've done. See you on the forums.

Regards, Alan Coles

Hey collin. I just saw this link in your sig at Bf.c and thought I'd take a look. I'm trying to go down the same path you are so your page gives me some ideas. Let us know when you're in the area. I'd love to drive yours with the LTW flywheel - it's my next mod.
