1968 Classic Ford Bronco Sport
My Bronco was originally purchased new in 1968 by my Grandfather "George" who it's named after. I grew up riding around in it when I was a kid. It has its original 289 V8 with 108k miles. I inherited it about 6 years ago and have started some mods and general restoration. I plan to keep it in the family and pass it down to my boys. We take it off road to the mountains, Beach, & on camping trips - making memories........
Current upgrades & restoration
- James Duff 3" complete suspension lift, shocks, springs, and poly bushings
- New Bushwacker dura-flex fender flares
- 33" x 10.5 BFG All Terrains with 15x8 Eagles w/ matching spare
- Super Winch 4x4 hubs
- Original Warn 5687 classic upright winch with Warn winch front bumper (installed by dealer when new)
- All new stock upholstery with new rebuilt seats, door panels, rear quarter panels, new sun visors, complete weather stripping, Smitty built center console, 3-point seat belts, and new carpet.
- Electric wiper conversion
- Hurst 3-speed on the floor shifter
- 2 1/2" custom roll bar
- Diamond plate engine set, rocker panels, and door plates.
- Rebuilt original 289 with 302 heads, Ford Racing valve covers, Petronix electronic ignition, and Holley electric fuel pump
- H4 HID Hella headlights and wire harness conversion
- Power steering conversion from manual.
- Pioneer 200w MP3 player with 5.25 component speakers
- Tom's custom leather steering wheel w/Bronco script
- GPS
Future projects and upgrades
- Install new 3.5 lift with bigger tires - at least 34's
- Fresh paint
- Roll bar extension over the back seat
- New body mounts(2" lift)
- Headliner and all new interior chrome moldings
- All new exterior chrome moldings and emblems
- Power disc brake conversion (Hydro-boost) front & rear
- Rebuild the engine bigger - 4 BBL, intake, cam, headers, ect...
- Auto trans
- rebuild transfer case
- Double front shocks
- Lockers (front & rear)
- Soft top
- More stereo components (sub box, amps, and rear speakers)
- The list goes on and on, I don't think it truly ever ends with a 40 year old vehicle.... does it?
