Next mod was my exhaust. I had always wanted to modify my exhaust on my previous cars but had never been brave enough. But with a proper car I thought it was about time I did. So, off to decide on a style and type of exhaust. I have always wanted a twin exit exhaust. One either side of the car. I couldn’t find any brand name that did an off the shelf twin exit exhaust so I decided to take a trip down to Harlow and visit Xtreme motorsport. The car was booked in and I decided to go for a quad exhaust system in the end, twin squares on both sides. The custom job took 5 hours but I was pleased with the finish.
With the new wheels on the car sat quite high. Made me feel I was driving a tractor. So I searched around for lowering springs. I looked at several brands and was looking for the most drop in height. I found H&R springs that lowered the car by 35mm. So I booked the car in and had it lowered.
The car was looking a lot meaner and aggressive. I thought that I should get tints done next. I thought I would have a go myself at the tints. I went for dark smoke up front and limo black on the rear. I took the windows out and tinted them. Had no problems at all, well not until I had a try at the rear window. After several attempts I gave in and booked it in at TintR in Nottingham who did a great job.
Disaster. I had cracked one of my alloys and buckled another on a pothole. I managed to get the buckled wheel repaired but the cracked wheel was beyond repair. So I took it on the chin to spend some money and tried to order another wheel. Bad news, OZ Europe had stopped producing 19” 5 stud Antares. So with three wheels I had to go back to my standard 16’s. A week later I decided I need to get some new rims. Because of the lowering and new bodykit the car was too low with the 16” rims. The car was scraping over all the speed bumps. I went back and decided I definitely wanted to go with chromes this time. So I ordered 18” chrome Vault wheels. The sharp lines on the wheel suited the lines of the Lexus and with the drop on the car the wheels fitted in very nicely.
