****update 11/1/07 at the bottom****
Welcome to my Z page. I'll show you some pictures of its progress. The Newest pictures are at the bottom
It's a 1975 280z 2+2. I got it about a year and a half ago and it was in nasty shape. I got it off a buddy of mine. I offered him 300 for it and he said sure. It needed atleast one thing fixed on each major component, Engine needed a major tuneup, suspension was Completely shot, interior was fucked. Overall it has no rust and just needed a really good scrubbing.I hope you enjoy the pictures. If you like it enough you could leave me a comment and i'll surely leave you one on your car! :)
This is what i started with. It doesn't look bad but it needed alot done. Interior was trashed along with the suspension being shot, and needed a major tuneup.
1st off i needed to fix the suspension. The bushing and struts were so bad that it would spin out if it hit the smallest bump. I went in and tore out and replaced all the bushings. Replaced the springs and struts with Tokico's.
After alot of scrubbing I got the wheels shining. Don't waste your money spending 20 bucks for wheel cleaner. Get some of those scrubbing pads with the rust remover in them made by Brillo pads. I like these rims so i'm keeping them, I just wished they were alittle wider!
I did the front end with a extra grill that came off of my old truck. Its looks alot better than the big hole. I'm still looking for a air damn at this point so it will do for now.
Before.
After all the sanding and after 2 months.
Interior
Here's what the motor looks like now. Everything tuned and running like new!
In low light it takes on this purpleish look so i've decided not to stay with the color and respray it this winter. It does look good in the sun though
Updated pictures 6/14/06 Finally got those rear bumper brackets out. I cut acouple inches off the shifter and it feels much better than the long ass original lenth. Also swapped the steering wheel horn. The next thing i'm getting ready to do is tint the windows.
Update 6/10/07 Hey guys, Thanks for all the good comments about my car. As of now, She's still running great. I haven't really done anything other than drive her lately. I ended up moving 1600 miles away and drove her all the way with no problems whats so ever. I had around 2000 pounds of tools and clothes in her for the trip. I had so much shit in her that i actually pulled the pass seat just for some room! That was a year ago. Since then, I've put about 8000 miles on her. For the 1st 7 months of being here she was a daily driver over 60 miles a day for work. I NEVER had a problem! The springs are still stiff so it's kinda hard to get used it but i've fallen in love with everything about this car. The engines still peppy as hell and will still move pretty quick. Still drives straight goin down the road too!
