Brandon314159's 1981 Mercedes-Benz D-Class
This is my 1981 Mercedes Benz Turbo Diesel. The engine in this car is a 2.998L (3.0L) Inline 5-cylinder Indirect Injection Turbo Diesel. Its coupled to a Mercedes Benz 4-Speed Automatic Transmission. Independent Rear Suspension with Center Mounted Transaxle.

The engine came stock with a T3 Garret Turbocharger and I upgraded the compressor side with a 60 trim Ford SVO compressor. I run my turbo unwastegated anywhere in the range from 17psi up to 26psi under full load. The engine has never been opened up or internally modified. I have installed a 0-30psi boost gauge and a 0-1800F Isspro pyrometer in the exhaust manifold (pre-turbo).

I also intercooled the car with an Audi S4 intercooler modified for air/water use rather than the stock air/air which it was origionally designed. The intercooler's size is adequet enough to support up to ~400HP so it is plenty large for this small of an engine. A mercedes circulation pump runs a closed loop system through a temporary radiator mounted in the front bumper area.

The Injection Pump has been rebuilt/modified to provide greater full load fuel and less torque backup. This modifications, along with the intercooler provide must more power and an enjoyable driving machine.

Nice 126 chassis. Classic body style in my opinion. It looks clean man. Check out my 63 benz 220b and my 84 300 sd. peace.
