xtreme_db's 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

Last Modification (#19)

Had to replace the tie rod ends (October 2009) - so decided to update to the latest Belltech drop shocks and struts available.  Got the adjustable front drop struts to fine tune the drop and get all four corners equal ride height. After removing the front struts two or three times - got the ride height smack on!

Modification (#18)

Added JL Audio ZR 6.5" components to the doors - with these speakers did not have to drill the doors at all -= the tweeters mounts fit right into th stock perforations!! Excellent

Modification (#17)

Added Ipod interface and 160 Gig Ipod for access to all of the music (September 2008) - pretty disapointed in the inteface with this head unit and enitre music shuffle is not enabled for this head unit but was able to override it directly with the ipod itself and directly shuffle the music to the head unit.

Modification (#16)

Exchanged the AEM intake (which broke a weld in Spetmeber 2008) and replaced it with a K&N intake and surprisingly the K&N intake is louder and tkaes in more air with improved throttle response

Modification (#15)

Added Alpine Blackbird GPS Unit (July 2008) - got the docking station to interface with the Alpine head unit. Slick interface and flawless

MODIFICATION (#14)

Added new Amplifiers JL Audio 500/1 and JL Audio 300/4 to replace the Kenwood Amplifier. Also added the JL Audio bass control unit to adjust the 20 Hz range on the 500.1 sub amp

13. Moved the amplifiers from under the seat to the back wall of the cab. Fabbed up a fake rear wall and added the amplifiers so that the stock wall didn't have to be marked up. Also recessed the Modded X-box in-between the two amps so that I can listen to all of my Mp3's and Video Concert Footage from the 350 gig Hard Drive.

12. Added a Polished Cold Air intake with a over-sized K&N Air Filter

11. Decided to shave the mirrors on the Colly - Took off the stock mirrors and cut up some smoked plexiglass and made some mounting brackets to fit in side the doors and then screwed them on. I painted them after first mounting them cause you could still see the yellow paint through the plexiglass. I have to put some silicone or foam tape on the inside of the plexiglass to make sure there is no leaking. Put some smaller Convex mirrors on the inside of the door for changing lanes

7. Tonneau cover and Bed Rug - COMPLETED October 22, 2005
Have been searching for a tonneau cover for over 1 year now - no one makes one for the Xtreme. Everyone has to remove the spoiler in order for it to work. I know it can work with the Spoiler and I built a prototype to prove it.

1. Made a custom front license plate bracket so I did not have to drill into the front bumper (haha GM why wreck a good front bumper)

The truck was ordered on Oct 25, 2004 and thanks to the local dealership, they got it delivered in only 7 weeks. I had the truck undercoated, paint protection and the interior scotchguarded. I took delivery of the truck on 12/23/04 - what a Christmas present.
