This is my Prelude. I've had her since 2000 and she has about 77,000 miles on the odometer. I bought it for $15,000 from a single mom who had bought it for her daughter. When her daughter's grades started slipping, she made her quit her job and sell the car. I bought the car after one test drive in which I never even drove it, because I couldn't get used to the clutch. It was a good deal and I had my heart set on that color with a manual tranny. It was at least a grand cheaper than every other one I saw so I jumped at the chance to sell my truck.
The first thing I did to it was to try to remove the pinstriping. It also had these ugly black bumperettes along the side, but I didn't fuck with those. Well, the passenger's side came off pretty easy, but when I got to the driver's side I found out that there must have been a wreck on that side. The pinstripe was half covered by clearcoat down the entire car. I did what I could, but I couldn't get it all.
I drove around like that (and it wasn't easy seeing my baby like that) until about a year ago, when I was involved in a front end collision that I was able to take it to the body shop. I had them sand, prime, and paint the entire driver's side in addition to the front bumper and hood. My only complaint is that the rear bumper doesn't match now (crappy factory paint job).
I'm graduating in May 2005, and I've debated long and hard about whether to sell it when I graduate and get a new car. But it does pretty good on gas and I've done enough to it that I probably wouldn't get my money out of it. So it'll stick around as my daily driver and I'll probably get: a Mitsubishi Evo MR Edition, or an old NSX to play around with on the weekends.
