POWERTRAIN AND UNDERCARRIAGE
Everything was removed on the undercarriage. The frames were sandblasted and painted with epoxy paint. The underbody was undercoated. All the brake,fuel,steering lines were stripped and repainted.All of the seals and bearings on the powertrain were replaced. The driveshaft was rebuilt with new carrier bearings.CV boots were replaced as required.
The transmission and tranfercase were rebuilt. After dissasembly they were degreased and glass beaded.The trans and transfercase were rebuilt with all new seals and bearings. The clutch had been just replaced on the car, as was the trans. I took the trans apart just to be sure. The syncros looked like they were just replace, but I found 1 bearing that was no good ,so I replaced them all. Here is the bad bearing n the input spool. Both the bearing and the spool were replaced,as the splines were worn out also.
