92 STEALTH RT TT

Here are some pics and info of my Stealth RT TT.I bought the car in Dec 03. I was looking for a 1G Talon TSI when I came across the Stealth. The guy was asking 3800 and I bought it for 3500, what a steal I thought.The car had 250,000 kms and a blown engine. It was an original owner car with no accidents and original paint.

In early January I proceede to pull the engine and trans. The engine was sent in for machining. I then thought I would pull out all the frames and suspension. I then sandblasted them and painted them with epoxy paint.The engine was taking longer than I thought so I pulled off everything else off the car but the glass and the wiring harnesses.

While it was out I freshened up the trans and transfercase with new bearings and seals and a few new parts. All the seals, bearings, struts, some suspension bushings were replaced. The calipers, clutch and brake cylinders were rebuilt. Every part that came off was either restored or replaced before being put back on.

The interior was dyed black from the existing grey using SEM products, they worked very well. I did a color change on the whole car from the existing red. I used Dupont base/clearcoat paint. The color now is from a late model BMW, Titanium.

After the engine work was completed it took about 2 months to put the car back together. It took about another month to do the body and paint. I managed to drive it for 300 kms before the snow came in 04.

All the work was done by me except for the machining on the engine and the balancing. Hope you enjoy it.
