A little body work in on the passenger side 1/4 panel. Yikes!!
Started out harmless enough. Beautiful day. Just a little rust..

On closer inspection, it really needed to be sanded away properly.

Come to think of it, I need to take a sledgehammer to the side of this puppy and refill it.

Oy! You want I should get a doctah?

After 8 hours of sanding (by hand), resulting in one wicked stiff back -- it is now smoother than a baby's butt. Not that I've been touching baby butt lately or anything...

stay tuned for the dramatic results of my amateur body work...
Aww crap. Who was I kidding? Actually, I did an excellent job of filling, sanding and priming, but it went bad in the clearcoat stage when bug flew into it while it was wet. I tried to get the bug out, but it just ruined the clear. It kept the rust under control, which was the main purpose, but ultimately this was the last straw in a bunch of areas of the car that just needed attention.
So...
I took the plunge. Into the bodyshop for repair and paint...
Heres that 1/4 panel:

and here's the rest...

I think it turned out rather well...
