Day 2 Boston to Atlantic City:

MrAngry's 1968 Dodge Charger Woof!... now this was a nutball day. Sometimes things work out the way you want them too and sometimes they don't. Well, this day encompassed everything that could go wrong. First off we had a Cannonball start from the Intercontinental Hotel in Boston. All the Bullrunners hammered out of the lot and through Boston towards our first check point - the New London Ferry to Vinyard 48 on Long Island's north fork.

After blazing out of Boston we hit the interstate heading south... but we kinda' got a little lost. We were running the Ferrari F430 of Mr. Todd Ford, Lamont in the Porsche Carrera 4S and Team Cockney in the 77' Trans Am... bitchen right. We all actually doing fairly well our TomTom put the kybosh on us with some crappy directions. We hit back road after back road and found ourselves snail trailing it through out of Masseschusets and into Rhode Island. Don't get me wrong the the drive was nice, but we just we'ren't moving with any kind of conviction. That part sucked. Then to make matters worse we blazed out of a toll plaza only to get nicked by a Rhode Island State Trooper, who I have to say was one of the nicest gentleman we had the pleasure of meeting. He let us off with a verbal warning and sent us on our way.

MrAngry's 1968 Dodge Charger Now, this should have been the end of the bad stuff... but nope, about 1 mile down the road the Charger decided to run out of gas! DOH!... well not fully out of gas. We basically stalled out a few time at the base or Rhode Island Bridge (don't really know the bridge name so I made that one up)... anyway we got it running, sputtered to the top of the bridge and literally coasted down off the first exit and into the first gas station... talk about luck. After that we filled up and jetting for the ferry New London Ferry to Long Island.

The Ferry ride was uneventful and we all enjoyed the 1 hour cruise through Long Island Sound. Once in LI we hit 25A and headed for Vinyard 48 and no sooner did we get there then all the other Bullrunners were leaving - so, once again, the day was stilling sucking.

Now, I grew up here, this is my home turf so for Team Charger it was all gas pedal and fuel stops... until that is, we got close to Queens. I mean I live there, so on principle we had to stop at my house where I took a shower and changed into some nice new cloths and became a human being again. The route card had everyone else sitting in traffic, but again, my Island, my town, my run. We were able to relax and still get to Atlantic City (did I mention that is where we were going?) with no problems and we were nice and relaxed. Life was good, dinner was good, the drinks were good and hell... the Charger was good.
