One thing I discovered during a swift run through the mud is that the air intake was perfectly situated to suck up mud and water if I went through too fast. The solution was to build a cowl induction tube so that the fresh air is drawn in from the cowl.

I've tried it out and found it to work quite well! I can saturate the engine compartment with water and still keep going.

Still running strong, even though the engine is soaked:

Next came a 2-inch body lift and a set of 31X10.50 mud tires, just in time for the BroncoII.org Tillimook State Forest Run near Portland, OR.
Heading down the trail.

Going down the Mini-Rubicon.

Getting some air on Can Opener.

Stopping near Mt. Shasta on the way home.
