This is a restoration I completed. It is a 1967 Corvair Coupe with factory air conditioning. I found this car 20 miles from my home.....one of those deals where someone said Joe Smith over in Podunk Center has one in their garage under some junk......

....There it was... original paint dried out, carpeting mummified, and an overpowering smell of mothballs...

But with a charged battery and five minutes cranking it started up.....and the AC worked !

It is painted in the factory color,
Bolero Red. I opted for the Corsa silver in the rear cove panel and the 65 Corsa rear panel chrome inserts.

The exhaust is a Fitch Extractor system with Jones Exhaust Tips.

This air dam is an original 70's Garvin Front Air Dam These were made with heavy ABS plastic with formed mounting perches shaped to fit the body.

These are reproduced still but in fiberglas only and do not fit as close as the originals. I have one on my 66 sedan that I am relatively happy with.

I enjoy autocrossing my Vairs the picture below is the 67 in the staging area at Fire and Ice "04 in Marshaltown Iowa this last September.

I even built a custom 2 seater 5 HP. MONZA JR Kart for this event

I havent had time to get interior and engine compartment pictures yet......too busy out driving it around!

look at that dork grin....
SEE YOU LATER !
