BRAKES!!!!
This is an 11.75 DynaPro Race Kit for a Mini Cooper. There is a small amount of modification necessary to fit it to a Miata. Rear uses a hat for a Honda Civic application with an 11.44” steel rotor and a caliper relocation bracket to mount Miata 1.6l calipers in the proper location.

I actually made solid computer models off the dimension drawings and measuring my wheel to verify fitment before I plopped down the money. I guess I am and engineer geek.

Mini caliper bracket is nearly bolt on. One extra spacer washer to space it closer to the hub (about 1.5mm more than the Mini spacer), the holes in the knuckle need to be enlarged slightly to accept the 7/16” mounting bolts, and an additional 3/8” spacer on the caliper mounting studs is needed to get the right radial placement of the caliper (this requires longer studs It comes with ARP 3/8” 2.5” long I found some ARP studs that are 3.15” long that will work”. They are $4.85 each from Summit racing. Custom hatcentric rings were machined to center the Mini hats on the Miata Hubs I paid $50 for 4 of them from a local machinists. The Mini has the same hat ID as a Honda Civic. The centering rings are very similar to what Flyin Miata used on there early kits that used 11” VW G60 Corrado rotors.

DynaPro Caliper versus Dynalight. There a little over a pound heavier but are more stout and use thicker pad material. They are also designed for much tighter radial clearance allowing stuffing bigger rotors into small wheels.

The rear uses a wilwood hat for a Honda, part 170-6288. I chose this hat because the offset worked out to where my relocation bracket can be just a piece ¼” thick 4130 plate with 4 holes in it, no spacers required. I made these with a hacksaw an angle grinder and a drill press. The 1.6 brackets and the relocation bracket together are the same weight as 1.8l brackets.

Directional vane GT rotors.

Front and rear hat offset differences. It still results in slightly more wheel clearance for the rear than the front.

Minimal clearance to the balancing weights with 15X7 ET 40 Sprint Hart CPF. I’ll be careful with where the balance weights go next time I have things balanced.

No problem with 15X7.5” SSR Comps.

No problem with TDR ProRace1.
