Here is a 1992 Daihatsu Rocky I bought for $1700. To pass safety and emissions I had to replace a windshield, fix an exhaust leak, and swap the intake manifold for one with an EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve. Luckily Leon of www.daihatsu-help.com talked me through the swap, and I even found an intake manifold at a junk yard for $14. You can still order every part from Nagata (Parts Distributor), I have been using Bill White Auto Mall (800) 333-5612 and they ship it to my door. But the best luck is from the junk yards, I found chrome rims for $30!The interior is pretty good, came with a CD Player. The sunroof and "top" are detachable and the 4WD works great. There also seems to be enough room in the back seat for people. Pretty good for a tuna can.The body is pretty straight too. It looks like it had a minor fender bender in the rear quarter panel/bumper area, but otherwise it is clean and rust free. Reminds me of the spartan cars you see on caribean islands. For those who know me, I have always had a colorful bike rack. Right now I have a primary color theme going on. Ironically I purhased the red and yellow Rocky Mounts rails for another blue car.If you are interested in these cars, you should join the WARFS email list. The Worldwide Association of Rockys, Ferozas, and Sportraks is a great way to talk to other owners across the globe. I want to say that there are almost 400 people subscribed to that email list.
