11/19/06- Final trip to the track for 2006. Overall it was a pretty good day. My new best is now 11.41 @ 121.49 followed by a 11.46 @ 121.13. But on what ended up being my final pass, something in the drivetrain broke. After pulling the transmission and verifying it was okay, I checked the clutch, then moved to the rearend. Stripped 2 of the spider gear in the carrier. Here's a few videos. 11.46 @ 121 Spider gears break on this pass 11/12/06- After being a little usatisfied last Wednesday with the performance of my car, I gave it one last shot for this year. Still using the bald Nitto's and didn't change a single thing from Wednesday. I regained some mph N/A with a 13.14 @ 106 and when I sprayed the 75 shot I got a nice 11.89 @ 116. Amazing what better air can do for performance. After that pass I stepped up to the 150 shot, and I'm very pleased with the results. Best pass of the day was a spinning 11.55 @ 121.69.Here's a few videos from today 75 shot - 1.75 sixty foot, 11.89 @ 116 150 shot - 1.82 sixty foot, 11.76 @ 121 150 shot - 1.72 sixty foot, 11.55 @ 12111/8/06- Well after a year of waiting I took my car to the track Wednesday night on a pair of bald Nitto DR's borrowed from a friend of mine and I can't say that I'm very happy with how it performed on the motor. Without making any changes all night the best N/A pass was a pathetic 13.36 @ 101, down from a 12.98 @ 109 last november. I'm hoping that with some more tweaking and tuning I'll be able to regain that lost mph. I didn't touch the timing or fuel pressure at all. At least it seems that my new suspension is working. Best 60ft N/A was a 1.77 on the bald nitto's.I was in a better mood later that night after using the nitrous. On a 75 shot it picked up 11 mph and dropped to a 12.27 @ 112 with a 1.72 sixty foot. Compared to last November the best gain was only 7-8 mph on a 150 shot!!!! It seems to be much more responsive to the nitrous then it previously was. I let a friend make a pass on the nitrous and he cut a 1.69 sixty foot. I need to relearn the car a little and quit shifting too early like I did on a few passes. If the track is open on Sunday I'll be back out to do some more testing and work on setting the suspension. Here's a couple of videos from Wednesday. Please right click, save as! 12.27 @ 112 12.49 @ 112 (I shifted out of first way to early on this one) 1.69 sixty foot (I let a friend make a pass and he let off after third due to a vibration in the driveline)10/5/06- Turns out the ignition problem was the MSD coil all along. Warrantied it out and it runs great with a new coil. Everything else has been installed and hopefully I'll get back to the track before the season is over.
