I bought my SS with 1996 Chevy Impala SS in april of 2002. It had 94k on the 350 5.7L V-8 LT1 motor. She was just broken in.
This is how she looked for the 1st few months. Stock and Modless. She still received great comments. Believe it or not, at one point I told myself I would keep her stock. Now 2-1/2 years and 40 k miles later, check out the progress.
I beefed up the suspension to make the 2 ton beast feel nimble and sporty to drive. I added Hotchkis Lowering Springs and Bilstein Shocks for a firmer, tighter ride.
A little time after, came the Hotchkis sway bars and rear lower control arms.
What a difference over stock!
You can see the rake it gives w/o having to use the Air Ride lift bags sitting in the rear springs.
Other exterior mods to note: Red Chevy Bowtie, Billet grill inserts, Monte Carlo SS red emblem, Chromed factory SS wheels, clear corners and Chevy Impala fender crossflag emblems.
Autocross run at the ISSCA Vegas Nationals.
