Deceased:
Well about three weeks ago the gremlin in the engine decided to leave the engine in a very dramatic way, by making himself a 3” hole though the engine block, above the oil pan. I thought about putting another engine in it, but I thought about all the other work that needs to be done to it, including the rust holes on either side of the rear doors and the cancer here & there. Plus I have been getting tired of putting money into it just to keep it on the road, instead of putting money into horsepower. Sure I’ll miss it, it has sentimental value, I loved the way it handled the thing could take corners like a fleeing madman, but it’s time to move on.
Born: 6/1995 - Died 7/2009 - Miles 238,000+
Owned it myself for 6 years
Saabtober Fest 4 times
Carlisle 5 times
Local & not so local Runs 4 times
NYC & back without a scratch 3 times
Philly & back without a scratch 4 times, Including once parked in a 15 minute spot for 90 minutes without a visit from the PPA (It’s not easy finding a spot in philly)
Left me stranded: 0 times
And just for the record the engine still runs and produces power to the wheels as if it were just another day. It just sounds really really bad.
