Clear Image Automotive Tri-Y Headers:

Install Completed on June 9, 2007.

road_monster's 1994 Buick Roadmaster

Here is what we removed for this upgrade.

"Bye Bye" airpump, metal tubing, and hardware.

(We changed out the harmonic

balancer and belt tensioner too.)

New Oxygen Sensors were installed as well.

June 2nd, 2007.

Have the Tri-Y Headers from

Clear Image Automotive &

Random Technology Cats.

These things are beautiful!

Can't wait to install them...

Just received my Earls Pressure

Master Gaskets from Summit Racing...

(Earl's PM Gasket kit PN 29-DO3B3ERL).

June 5th, 2007:

I've been sick,

so I haven't jumped on this project.

However, I did get the driver's

side manifold bolts off today.

Tomorrow, I'll get the cat unhooked

from the exhaust pipe on the DS,

and get the header and

new cat in on the DS.

Then to tackle the passenger side!

Also, say "goodbye" to Mr. Airpump,

and the associated airpump tubing.

Mr. Airpump is going away :)

I heeded my friend Matt's advice,

and soaked the bolts in PB Blaster.

The bolts came out very easily.

I didn't break any so far...

Day Two. June 8th, 2007

I have the manifold & cat off the drivers side.

Still have one bolt to go on the pass side.

Man, I LOVE that PB Blaster!

No broken bolts.....yet (crosses fingers)....

Have the Earl's gaskets ready to go...

better get back to work!

I've been taking my time with this.

I could have and should have been done sooner,

but other things in life must come first...

More pics from "Day Two"...

(Notice the deletion of the

Air Pump & related hardware &

tubing & how much more room

there is in the engine bay.)

Day Three. June 9, 2007.

My son and I completed the

header install on June 9th, 2007.

Spent part of three days working on this project.

Took our time. Did not rush.

Did a bit of detailing as well.

Also, while we were there,

we deleted the Air Pump

and all associated hardware.

In addition,

we changed the belt tensioner

and put on a brand new

harmonic balancer too.

New oxygen sensors were also installed.

We are very pleased with the results.

The completed pics

are at the top of this page.

If you have a B Body,

and you want THE BEST headers,

go with Dan at Clear Image Automotive.

My son helping me with the

rear passenger side header bolt.

What a PITA! He has thin arms and hands,

and did a great job on this!

We modified a 3/8" offset 12 point

box wrench for this one bolt.

The wrench is now about 2" long,

and grinded down all

around the neck and box end.

Hooker Super Competition

2 1/2" Exhaust System is installed!

Summit Racing 2 1/2" Balance Pipe Kit

was installed on the Hooker system.

The stock exhaust systems

on the B-Bodys are 1 7/8",

and not mandrel bent,

like the system above.

Very restrictive...

My new exhaust system,

combined with the headers,

will definitely free

up some more ponies....

A Buick worthy of praise! I love the everything under the hood. That LT1 makes it a "RoadMonster" indeed. I love it! 5 stars all the way
