NEW PARTS/MODS

I found a faceplate on ebay for $20, I'm waiting till the auction ends to see if I win it. I went and picked up my subs that I won on ebay. $36 for 2 10" Baja subs in a custom built box.. for cheap subs they sound great. The box is a big help in making them do so.

I got my exhaust installed. 2 new mufflers and 2 tailpipes, hangers and such... $150. Not bad, eh?

I had them put the pipes out the sides like cutlasses came.

I installed all my speakers and my radio, but, someone stole my faceplate. So, no radio. =( I got the chrome inserts for my wheels, they look lovely. I installed new belts and I tried to bleed my brakes but the bleeders broke. I'm going to replace the rotors, calipers and pads. I'm getting 2 new mufflers and 2 tailpipes installed this week. $200 for that. I'm dripping oil either from my broken dipstick or my valve cover. I gotta find out 'cause my street is getting oil on it. So far the car has been running good, it's alot of fun. My boss told me it will be a good saturdqay car to run at the strip so that's what I'm working towards. 2/14

I received my 4 beauty rings in the mail today. Also purchased on ebay. Now all I need is the 5 inner trims pieces for each wheel and one center cap.
$34.00

Pioneer DEH-P6500: $96.50

Audio Mobile 950w 4-way 6x9's: $34.65
I'm wondering how good they will sound because they were only like $25 including shipping.

I'm waiting for both to be delivered. I'll have pics of them installed when I get them.

The 6x9's are going to have to be a custom install because my car came with 4x10's stock in the rear. I'm gonna get some 3.5" speakers for the dash soon.

The first thing I did to this car was replace the battery with a brand new dual terminal Bosch. I got some new terminals too.

New battery: $65
New terminals: $5
Oil/Filter: Around $15
Oil drain pan: $2
3 Pack STP gas treatment: $2

After that, a few days later I got 5 quarts of Castrol GTX 10W-40 motor oil and a Fram PH13 filter.

Changing my oil turned out to be a nightmare. The jack i was using was small and shitty so I couldn't get the car very high. Once I got it up I started to drain the oil. I walked away and came back to a puddle of oil on the ground. It completely slipped my mind that when the oil runs out in the oil pan the flow changes direction. Duh! So I had to clean that upo then I plugged the pan. I went to change the oil filter and forgot that I needed a special tool to remove it! My uncle came over and drove me to Pepboys to get the damn thing. I got it but then it wouldn't fit! The headers and that protective plate covering the transmission was in the way! So I had to keep the old filter, now dented on both sides, in there with the new oil. At least I got that black dirty oil out. I have to take it to my job and change the oil again and change my spark plugs.

It's gonna take alot of work for it to pass inspection. It's just as hard as California here. I need a whole new exhaust system because when I was under my car I noticed there are no cats. Besides that, the tailpipes are rotted right off the mufflers. When I get it to my shop I'll see what else it needs. When I start it up it's hard getting it to start. Gotta gas it and then once it's started keep it revving for a while untill it gets a little warm or it stalls out on me. I think it has a vaccume leak somewhere.

Did a VIN breakdown on it the otherday. Made in Canada and came with a v6. Whoo hoo lower insurance!

More to come...

As of right now all I've done is install the battery and terminals. I have to buy an oil draining kit to drain the oil. The car is on E so I'll have to go get some gas. It's not registered so I have to use a container.

Future plans:

Buy a parts car for the fender trunk engine bay metal and front bumper.

Sandblast and spray wheels either black or to match the paint.

Get all the chrome trim for my wheels.

Get the paint off of the existing trim.

Get any missing trim for the rest of the car.

Install a small tach from Autometer.

Install a floor shifter and maybe a 5-Speed tranny.

Sound system, nothing major, head unit and replace the factory speakers.

I'm not exactly sure what car the motor came out of but that's what the guy told me. I was told they put the computer in the car. I'll find out when I bring it to the shop.
