    Hey nice project. Didn't these cars come with straight axils under them like the '53/54 Chevies did? I think I'd either go with a sub frame from a new-er car (like a Camaro or even Monte but as a Monte owner I'm against using any Monte for parts) or even give thought to maybe doing an old Gasser resto on the car and kepp the straight axil. Lots of disk brake conversion kits out there even if you do a front end swap from even later '50s cars. If you go for the new-er conversion you already have your sway bar, disk brakes, and usually a lowered front end. Good luck. Later.
