And I of course did that manual swap! I managed to get a free T5 in perfect working order, and through various deals and bargains managed to get all the parts needed. I used a King Cobra clutch, billet steel flywheel, Hurst short through shifter, Hurst 16" handle, Hurst classic off white knob, Summit clutch cable, Summit firewall clutch cable adjuster, and Summit billet aluminum clutch quadrant. The T5 was in major ugly dirty condition. I only have one pic with the tag cleaned and you can see how dirty it was around it. I did a quick clean in the parts bench, and then prepped it for paint, and painted aluminum with a clear coat. (Just like my intake) I didn't have to use any kind of different drive shaft at all. Only chassis mod was I had to drill two new holes for the tranny cross member and that was it. Now I know that shifter looks like it's going through the roof, but it's actually a really good position. It puts it right next to the steering wheel so I don't have to travel to find it.

I had to make the pedal assembly from my existing brake-only assembly, by adding the clutch pedal from a SN95 Mustang. Which turned out to be pretty easy. All that I took from the SN94 assembly was the actual clutch pedal, and the pivot tube. I drilled through my pedal assembly and inserted the tube and welded it in place. I spent 1/5th the time removing the assembly from the Mustang and a fabricating the custom assembly, I spent the other 4/5ths of the time removing and installing the assembly in my car.....what a pain in the ass. 5 bolts gets you the assembly from the mustang. In the Crown Vic, you have to drop the entire steering column to the floor. I also had to upgrade to the 92+ Crown Vic brake booster so that I could have clearance for the clutch cable. The original one is much larger in diameter. I did not have to do anything to my original master cylinder to bolt it up to the new brake booster.

Before I went to the track I replaced all of my front brakes. New rotors and replacement police calipers (larger metal piston, vs phenolic smaller piston). And I did some research and discovered that Fox body Mustang GTs had the same style brake pads in the front. The brake pads are directly swappable with the phenolic civilian Crown Vic calipers, but for the police you have to put the pad retainer that comes with the caliper on. Very small deal So I ended up get Performance Frictions Z-rated pads. And they did very well on the track for the weekend. And they feel really nice now that they are fully broke in. So much so that I've decided to push the big brake upgrade back some.
The two pics below are of the Police Vic pads on the left with the P.F. Z-Rated 90 Mustang GT pads on the right.

The transmission saga is at an end! Well I have been in a pickle with this tranny since I got it. 2 weeks after I installed it I had to send it back because it was slipping in 4th. Then I got it back again and it wouldn't spin at all. So screw it. I quickly rebuild a stock AOD and drove that for the time being. I had to wait till I had the time to do it, but I decided to rebuild the entire thing, so that I could be sure of how things came out. MegamaxTransmissions SUCKS A BIG ONE!!!!! They don't use vavle body gaskets WTF!? Incorrect spring for OD servo, one missing clutch disk from intermidiat clutch pack, improper clearances all though the tranny, and installed the governor backwards, which was the cause of the not being able to turn. Luckly I had not driven it, so the only parts that I needed were vavle body gaskets, a intemidiat clutch pack, OD servo spring, and a trust washer for the end driveline play. And now that I have built it all over again myself, it shifts and works like a dream! Now with full power in 1st it spins both tires ever launch instead of sometimes, this also is even more impressive with the upgrade from Touring 235s to performance 255s. Chirps 2nd every WOT shift! Not many pics but here are some while I was installing it.

Well got the new wide ratio tranny in! It came a day later than I wanted but, all is well that ends well. After the install I took it for a ride and was surprisingly impressed that I was able to spin, not 1 but 2 wheels (thanks TrueTrac) from a dead stop launch!!! :-) Spins them both with ease, and spins 2 wheels every time, unlike the clutch style LSD carriers.
So whats in the tranny? First off it has the 4R70W gear.
Gear-----Stock-----4R70W
1st--------2.40------2.86
2nd------1.47------1.55
3rd-------1.00------1.00
4th--------0.67------0.70
A servo, mechanical 2nd gear diode, 4 clutch second, wider OD band, combination Bauman/Superior shift kits.
New shift patter in OD-2-1
New B&M 2100rpm stall converter.
Here are the pics, enjoy!!

Got line lock for the rear brakes. I installed it in the rear brake lines so that when I use it, I can dis-engauge and re-engauge the front brakes without disturbing the rear brakes. It's a B&M Launch Control system. I installed three blue LED's as indicator lights to show that the line lock is on. I wired the button up so that it's under the right side of my seat.

Well I cleened up the rear end a bit. I also installed a new Detroit TrueTrac by TracTech. Along with a set of 3.55 ratio gears for the rear end. I like how it looked with the light above it, so I might just get some white undercar LEDs to light that beautiful rear end up.

Well here is the only MOD that I have done to the drivetrain, except of course the engine. I bought a chrome transmission pan with a drain plug when I re-built me trans almost a year ago. I just changed the trans fluid, and OMG it's so nice to be able to drain that sucker before you open it. Turns changing the transmission fluid into a 45 minute driveway job.
