Thanks for visiting our page. We purchased this Neon July of 03'. I never would have thought I would own a Neon. I have always owned VW's. Mostly Jettas. They are still my first love. Anyway, when we purchased the car (was suppose to buy SRT4 but they took $5k off the price for this one) from the dealership it was built as a "kit car" (their way of trying to push a stock car off the lot. They added a bunch of mods to it.) It came with the Razzi body kit, rear spoiler, an R/T exhaust, suspension work and vinyl graphics. Due to a vandalism incident during Spring Break 04' we had to strip the vinyl and got a GREAT DEAL on a custom airbrush graphic. Everything else we've added since then.
All of the fiberglass/paint work was done by my fiance, Marcus Prouty, who is an Instructor at the Installer Institute School for Mobile Electronics. While he's putting his own sweat into the car, I too have had my hands dirty during the build. I am responsible for the detailing, which also includes heavy duty cleaning in the wheel wells, touch up painting and yes, I've even sanded a thing or two....LOL.
UPDATE...AS OF 09/26/09...Now in our 3rd full year on the show circuit and have been pretty successful. Took home trophies at HIN Orlando, HIN Miami, HIN Tampa, Spring Break Nationals, Funk Master Flex. Also had a photo shoot with John Jackson of NotStockPhotography for a future feature car in Performance Auto & Sound Magazine. The next few months will be the last few with our current set up and then she will have a small "face lift" including new body kit, paint, new door panels, trunk and rear seat/sub enclosure and possibly some other surprises...:)
She has close to 100K on her, still a daily driven car !! No lie ! Actually, it's our only vehicle (besides a scooter). She is our grocery getter, we take her camping and believe me, when we go to big shows, we can fit it all in our back seat ! Stanctions, chairs, suit case, cleaning bucket, trophies. It amazes people how much crap we can fit in it. We've been doing it for so long, we have it down to a science...LOL ! Is she perfect ? Hell no!! But she turns heads and we get a lotta love from a lot of people. Yes, it's still a Neon but she's been good to us and we'll continue to make her beautiful !
