RAZZLE-DAZZLE PART II
I then swapped the 780 for a Holley 600 I saved from my old Ford 289 powered Datsun 620 pickup. The plumbing is a mix of Aeroquip & Earl's pieces I saved over the years from various car projects. I'll admit I did buy the valve covers new after receiving the air cleaner as a birthday gift.
I know this stuff looks out of place on this worn-out old engine, but the van runs much better now.

I can't afford headers yet but didn't like the look of the old rusty exhaust manifolds, so I made some heat shields from a scrap piece of stainless steel.
P.S. A few days after getting this van, the stock gas pedal broke off. I couldn't get the mounting screws out, so I drilled 'em and made a temporary pedal from a piece of plywood and an old home-door hinge. It ain't pretty, but it works for now. When I can afford it, it will get a Lokar setup.
