My car has been sitting for almost a whole year now and it was time to get to work on my baby. Soon she'll run again... hopefully! Here are some pics from the shop at school as I tear her down and begin the rebuilding process.

Here are the updated pics from 8/08/06:

Here's how she's sitting in the shop at school. All jacked up and ready to go. She's been begging me to put her back together, I have to keep telling her to wait just a little longer!

OK, wait it's missing something... oh ya the engine!

Here's the old motor being tore apart. I've got a wrench in hand, parts are everywhere, and I'm covered in grease... I love it.

Love your build. My KLDE is currently sitting at 211,768km's which is 131,586miles if Im not mistaken, so yours kicked the bucket pretty early.. but from what you explained about the oil pan .. it makes sense as to why. My engine light has been on for over a year now but it's from Cylinder 2 mis-fire.. I plan on doing a full KLZE rebuild like you are doing once I get enrolled in school for an Apprentice Mechanic so I can do it myself, but I need the education first :) Your doing a great job and Ive never seen that kit before so I can't wait to see how it looks. 5* every day.

Hey man, dont listen to Andres douche.. he doesnt know what he's talking about.(not that he could put in in english if he did) I think he's mad because his grandmothers car can beat his. I like how he compared the mx6 to the wrx and the evo, if he knew what the eff he was talking about he would have compared it to something in its class.(such as a maxima, prelude, or accord) anyways good luck on the swap! I hope it turns out good, I would have loved to been able to do the klze swap into mine.

Cero - 60 in 7 seconds????
ARE YOU SERIOUS..... please come on: If you burn the damn clutch, take out all the seats, spare tire, etc, probable you would be able to hit 8,5 at sea level, but 7!!!!
Come on, stop fooling around, trying to impres the ignorant visitors.
This is a Mazda 626 like my gradmas car, its just that they made it 2 door, and added 2 cylinders that provide a couple more HP, but it isnt precisely an EVO or Impreza.
Get a job, I beg you....
;)
