My 1990 Ford Probe LX: with it's 02' Focus hubcaps, dented bumper, struggling transmission and broken driver power window motor. I am currently not working on this car at all. It is retired for winter.

After I rolled my 94' Toyota truck I stick with 4WD during winter, the Probe might come out in March.

Below are some pics while I was cleaning up the interior, they are definitely before pics.

The last image is the carpet looking like sh*t. The black box is the factory amplifier that came with the LX.

These pics were all taken about one month ago, now there is some snow on the ground.

The car has a new radiator and alternator. The passenger seatbelt is under recall I have to take that to a dealership to get it fixed (automatic shoulder belts).

The transmission is showing signs of wear occasionally slipping from second to third. What a pain it was to just change the filter and gasket on the transmission pan. The car has a crossmember you have to take off first to get to the pan whereas most newer cars don't even have to be jacked up to change the filter.

Page 2 is more pics of disassembly.

I had mine done through AAMCO, when you get it back, if you "HOLD" light acts funny, bring it back immediatly. I had mine re-done twice under warranty through them. Do yourself a favor, and go with the Lifetime, it's worth the money. The hold light problem was caused by an incorrect wiring job, and the rebuilt tranny shredded itself within weeks.

Not a bad little probe.... But do yourself a favor, and do a manual transmission swap. I had an MX-6 (Same car, different body) and went through 4 tranny rebuilds, those mazda auto transmissions sucked in the early 90's... I had built up my 2.2 to around 190HP, and the transmission just couldn't take it. Finally sold the car, couldn't afford replacing the tranny every 6 months... Now I have a sweet `77 Chevy, come check it out some time!
