I've been gathering parts for a while now, getting ready to go "real" 2wd. Transmission is a th400 converted to 2wd. Shift kit, deep pan, good clutches, blah blah blah. Torque converter is a Hughes 10" 3000 stall. Compared to the stock converter, this thing is tiny. I'm very impressed with the people at Hughes, very good customer support. The axle is a Dana 44 out of a '88 Grand Wagoneer. 30 spline axles and 8.5" ring gear. It's getting 4.10 Richmond gears and an Eaton truetrac carrier. I have a gas tank from an '88 GW that'll work but I'm holding out for my rear-mount Aerotank before I swap all the new parts. Trying to minimize down-time.
