Always did like the Fiero. The 3800 Series II/III engines run hotter due to the s/c on top, so you may want to visit a few of the fiero sites to see what they did about heat issues. Good luck!

Hey, okay that's why you didn't say anything about it huh? Well I'm not sure an auto-overdrive will fit (I believe that's what the trans you talked about is seems how the numbers are almost the same as the "new" 700r4) Good luck trying thou. You didn't say if you had a plan for the heat problem? He showed me pictures today of one at a show , they cut out the bottem of the little "trunk" behind the motor and made it like "6 deep then made a hole in between the tails covered it with expanded metal mesh. Sounds dumb but, it looked very good. I don't think you'll have to go that far but, I figured haveing the info couldn't hurt. Best of luck. keep me posted. Later

Well five pages and you didn't even tell us what kind of transmission it has? I was told by a guy that just happens to have a '86 GT that the five will not hold up to any real power. His son had one and all they did was 3.1 swap with a 3100 top end (heads and intake) and the trany gave up after about two weeks. That swap should have got them around 200hp, I know that a 3.8sc w/ underdrive pulleys and a CAI hits 240hp. Think about it. He said the four speed is much stronger, as always automatics are pretty much worthless at least in a "performance car".Seems how you dislike "ricers" too I guessing you already know that the only "wing" that should be on any Fiero is the factory GT spoiler right? About the only other thing I got is he said heat was a major problem untill he got the little side scoop that go up in that slanted "fastback" piece above the engine. Best of luck. later
