***Update 3-19-09
Started getting the Camaro itch the other day, and no cream can cure it! All insanity asside, I actually spent a few minutes to get the beast running again, but now I've got a tank full of varnish. Yet another battle in the war of my hot rod. Anyway, hopefully this weekend I can spend some time to wrap up a wiring project and clean the tank out. I'd like to have the car running for the summer season. More stuff and pictures coming later.
***Update 5-3-08***
I realized today that it's been well over a year since my last update, so i figured i should write a quick note and let people know what's going on. The Camaro runs great, but the battery is fried *again*, so ill have to get a new one. But the real news is that my wife is 7 months pregnant, so i won't have much time or money for upgrade to the hot rod for a while. oh well.
***Update 2-4-07***
The exhaust system is COMPLETE! Half a day's worth of welding, cutting heating, stretching, etc. resulted in a true dual exhaust that didn't completely destroy my ground clearance. Plus is sounds absolutely bad ass. Here's a pic of the finished product. More pictures on page five.
***Update 1-27-07***
New parts! I finally have all the pieces to complete my exhaust system, and I even have access to a welder for next weekend. I also have a new power steering pump of the correct type, so i will actually be able to drive and enjoy my car very, very soon. here's a few pics of the new parts.
Here's a little toy i've been after for a while, time to stick the battery in the truck.
***Update 1-15-07***
Since it's the new year, i figured it's about time i updated the page. Still no new parts, but coming very soon is a finished exhaust system and possible power steering.
***Update 11-10-06***
Well, i found a new powerplant for the Camaro. i scored a 350 chevy engine for free, and i'm going to built a budget 500 horsepower 388 stroker. Fun, fun ahead.
***Update 10-28-06***
Finally took some time to tune the hot rod a bit today, and it's running stronger than it has in a while, but still needs some general work to get it road ready. But, I figured I'd take a few pictures in my new back yard and post 'em for your viewing enjoyment.
***Update 9-30-06***
Well, I finally graduated from WyoTech, and have already had many job offers, and my wife and I decided to move to Sheridan, Wyoming, a small-ish town that has the privelage of being the lowest point in wyoming at only 3745 feet (moving from 7200, that's a big freakin' difference) so the Camaro's work will have to wait a little longer until we get settled in our new town and our new house, but stay tuned, good stuff is comin' at you some day.
***Update 8-26-06***
Well, I'm tired of being too poor to work on my hot rod, so I'm selling my body to science! no really. what you think i'm kidding? anyway...soon should be able to afford the rest of my exhaust system and parts to finish the power steering off.
***Update 8-22-06***
Sorry it's been so long since an update, but there's really nothing to report. I'm still poor and the Camaro is on the back burner right now until I finish Wyotech in about 5 weeks, so I'll get more content up soon.
***Update 4-30-06***
All new parts are installed and working, and holy crap is this car fast...i don't know what helped more, the Hedman Headers or the Mallory HEI but wow...
Anyway, got some new pictures so scroll down and check out the new mods, and don't forget to check out the pics on pages 2 and 3 as well. Thanks for visiting, leave me a message and let me know what you think.
Coming this friday, i will be ordering the rest of the exhaust piping and header s-pipes, and the exhaust will be finished in about two weeks.
***Update 4-9-06***
Well, the old air cleaner doesnt quite clear the new HEI, so drastic measures are being taken...Velocity stack, carb spacer and a new hole in the hood are well on the way.
***Update 3-27-06***
Down week at WyoTech is here at last, and i have some time to post pics of the new Camaro parts, and i'll be installing them later this week, so more pics to come.
Heres the new parts rundown:
Mallory Billet aluminum HEI distributor
Hedman long tube headers
March Power Steering pump bracket
Hedman header reducers to match my mufflers
Autometer Tach and shift light
Mr. Gasket Electric cooling fan ($5 at swap meet thanks Sorenson!)
***Update 2-10-06***
The time has finally come! to all who have been watching my site, i have FINALLY started at WyoTech after over a year of wating. i just finished my first of four automotive phases, EMS I, or engine management systems I. next monday (2/13/06) i start into EMS II.
***Update 9-30-05***
VANDALS!
See final page for Vandalization Story, damaged parts, new parts, etc.
As for performance, i have done some engine work and upped the power quite a bit. the engine is from a 1971 C-10 pick up listed at 275 hp, i swapped the old q-jet carb for a Holley 600 cfm (lots of carb for my altitude, 7200ft) i swapped the old cast iron intake for an Edelbrock Performer EPS intake, with a 180 degree thermostat (best for this altitude) and Mr. Gasket water neck, and i have ditched the old cast iron manifolds for Hedman long tube headers. The plug wires are MSD 8.5 mil wires, and the air filter is K&N. Finally got rid of the old Delco-remy HEI for a brand new Mallory unit rated at over 50,000 volts. I have a custom race ready TH350 tranny with carb triggered shift points for maximum power at the best time, i also have a B&M ripper shifter with Hurst Torque arm bracket and a Grant GT steering wheel. Helping keep track of the motor and keeping my shifts right is an AutoMeter autogage tach. Up next: finish off the exhaust and finalize the power steering and the beast will finally be ready for some track time!
Most recent additions to the body are four hood pins, eliminating some 20 lbs of useless hood hinges. i completely removed the heating and air conditioning system as well as the back seat to make room for a roll cage, late next summer.
Yes, the car has been wrecked, but i don't care what a car looks like, just that it goes fast, and mine does. not yet track tested, will test late next summer.
Check out the new hole in the hood, looks somewhat redneck, but i get great fresh air and i think it looks bad ass.

Even before my intake swap, plenty of power to burn!
Me and my car, old pic so not quite accurate, but close enough.
Lucky me, the snow stopped long enough for me to take some new pics of my car, so here they are. keep in mind that i do have a dashboard, im working on some interior wiring right now and as soon as i finish i will get pics of the interior.
Notice the scratches and chipped paint, this is not a show car.
I love the blackouts on this car, they look great, even with the dents.
Ah, the good side of the car.
Notice the hood pins, i just finished the install a couple of days ago, the look great and are functional too.
