I bought this 86 4wd Ranger in september of 2004. It was all stock riding on 235/75/15 all season radial tires. I wheeled it stock for about 5 months as I accumulated the parts I needed to lift it.

I aquired a wrecked 1991 Ford Explorer for $300. I swapped in the front and rear axles when doing the lift. The Dana 35 front is much more desireable for offroading, as it is significantly stronger than the Dana 28 that was in the truck. The rear Ford 8.8 31 spline is also much stronger than the Ford 7.5 that it was originally equipped with.

I decided to try myhand at making my own extended radius arms. They aren't pretty, but for a first attempt they turned out fairly well. I'll redesign them when I swap in the Dana 44 solid axle.
