Update: Well, the mallory distributor is in place.. but the problem did not go away, found a problem with the carb, so now i have two good HEI distributors... oh well. It runs a little better at idle and the midrange. Found another thingy (sec. lockout lever)that locks out the secondaries when the choke is active... well, since my edelbrock heads does not have any exhaust crossover passage the hotair choke never dissengaged. I figured i could just keep the chokeblade tied up and that would be fine... but it was not. The secondary lockoutlever was making the secondaries stay closed as long as the choke was engaged which never dissengaged... some more steelwire solved that rpoblem and dissconnected the secondary lockoutlever so the secondaries can open.. so now the secondaries are working again but the choke is still enrichening the mixture at idle and everywhere else in the rpm band... fouling the plugs etc etc.. so what to do? I contacted my friend Thomas with the blue camaro (in my friends list) who had a Edelbrock 1407 that was left over since he has gone EFI now.. the carb is in grate shape and a little shaped up fuelwise to suit his former engine (im using his old rpm heads which were used with this carb). I think the engine will look nice with all these edelbrock parts!
Now the engine is updated with modified Carb, Heads and Intake!
This weekend the carb will be adapted to my engine and brackets.. Some fabrication may be needed to mount the kickdown linkage but that shouldnt pose any problems.. if there's a will there's a way!!
Thinking about going supercharged... maybe a weiand pro street blower.. we will see what the future holds..

Edelbrock 1407 750 cfm carb!!
