Finished Engine!

It really ROOOARRS!!!

First weekend out!
The car has now been tested with the new engine and only a few problems has arrised. The distributor ignition advance isn't working right. If you go down to first gear and i rev it gently up to about 2500 rpm's and punch the accelerator pedal it kind of gets "unstuck" and the cars launches really hard but if you floor it from say, 1500 rpms it just goes "choked" all the way up to 5000 rpms. Sometimes though it "unstucks" around 4500 rpms and goes hard until the shift to secondgear comes... then its back to beeing "choked" again. I belive the advance mekanism in the distributor is faulty.

The following day...
Opend the HEI distributor and the advance weights where bent.. corrected them and installed them and the distributor again, but the problem consists. The engine pushes you back into your chair good enough but when you get that advance "unstuck" it yust rockets down the hiway and you get nailed to the seat!!

So, instead of worrying about my 30 yearold HEI distributor i have ordered a Mallory 85 series distrubutor with performance coil, module, cap and rotor, adjustable vaccum advance and mechanical advance and its all contained in a billet housing!

Found the problem... and its not the HEI distributor.. oh well... a new one is already orderd..read aabout it on page 4!
