My headunit. Its a Panasonic 9800 which is one of the most powerful on the market today. I cut the dash where the package tray once was and stuffed it in. The package tray was moved to where the original stereo was. This was done to get clearence on the back side of the headunit. If any of you know what im talking about...there is not a lot of room back there for a modern headunit
View of the passenger side and Drivers side dash speakers. The passenger speaker was a bolt in with no modifications.

Views of the drivers side speaker with the grill removed. I used the original speakers mount but cut it in half to mount the 4x6 speaker. The reason for all this trouble was so that i could use the original speaker grill upon completion as the grill mounts to the speaker mount. The easiest way to do this is probably with a plate speaker like the Infinity Kappas that i used. Also in the last picture of the Drivers side speaker you can see that the fuse box is a bit lower on the left than the right side. This is because of the bigger speaker. Its not noticible unless you're looking for it.

A view of one of the rear 6.5 inch round Infinity Kappa 3 ways. Now if i had to do this again i would probably choose a different speaker just for an easier install. Even though the original speakers were 6.5 round, the Kappas didn't fit in the hole. I ended up using vise grips and pulling the hole open from the trunk side. Then once they actually fit they still didn't line up with any of the mounting holes. So out came the drill and i drilled some new holes. They sound great so if you want good sound get them, but there a bit of a pain to mount in an old suby.

Here is a shot of my subs. The shot on the page before shows my 300 watt RMS Dual amp that is powering these things. Sony Xplods have a bad rap from a lot of peoples past experiences. They have changed though. These things thump the hell out of this little car!
