Hey everyone. This is my '83 Subaru. I've had it about 2 years now after having found it in one of those crappy newspaper ads. The ad read "83 subaru gl four door FWD very clean $1300". When i first saw this ad i had a subaru that was my daily driver so i didn't pay attention to it. 6 months later I had gotten rid of it because of rust issues and the fact that i could never get the thing to run correct (terrible hessitation). Then I just happened to see the same ad still in the paper and it interested me this time. So I called the number and found out that it supposedly had no rust and that it was loaded with power windows, steering, and air conditioning. Now i was really interested. So i went and took a look. He was right. With only 53,000 miles it was in pretty good shape. It did have some rust but i have since gotten it all taken care of. I also found a full set of period subaru alloys and put those on with new tires. A bit of exhaust work and carb work and it is running mint. The stereo is something as well. The head unit is a Panasonic that puts out 60watts RMS per speaker. I had to custom install 3 out of the four speakers. It has 4 by 6 infinity kappas in the dash and 6 1/2 round infinity kappas in the back. Then i have a Dual 460 watt amp hooked to two Sony Xplod 10 inch subs. Everything has been done in a clean fashon that makes it look as close to the way it would have come from the factory if they had CD's when this car was made.
