Vega History

The Chevy Vega, brought out in late 1970, early 1971 was the first sub compact Car built by chevrolet. Brought out during a time of high gas mileage, but with the US still coming out of the Muscle car era, The Vega was Born. Designed to win back the sales from the other competitors.

In the Early 70's the vega had 4 models. A standard "Notchback" (with a trunk) model. Moving up to the Hatchback model. Then you had the "kammback" station wagon. Then finally the cargo wagon (station wagon without windows.
In 1974 Chevy revised the Vega front end. Changing it from the huge grilled, somewhat flat frontend to the sleeker, small slitted grill of the 74.

Chevrolet kept this styling, until in 1976 they revised it. extending the grill and putting the turn signals behind the grill.
