Frame Patches
The frame is boxed in using 1/8" steel.

Motor Installed
I installed the motor in without removing the tranny.

Custom Intake?
The only item that I didn't get from the donor car was the air intake tube. I had to make a temporary tube to get the car started.

I found an intake tube!
Later I will remove the battery tray and fabricate a mount for the VAF box and cone filter.

Pacesetter Header
Bought this at Summit Racing part # 70-1166. I also bought a muffler (p/n SUM-630122) and I took some 5/16" steel rod and fabricated muffler mounts (like on the stock muffler) so that it can be mounted in the stock location.

Header and Bottom Radiator Hose
Here is another shot of the header. Also you can see the bottom radiator tube. It is made from 2 different hoses. I just cut them after the 1st bend and they are joined together by a piece of 1" steel conduit (90 bend). Later I'll try to find an actual hose that matches up to this.

Radiator Overflow Tank
I then mounted the radiator overflow tank on the opposite side. There is one tapped hole in the inner fender so all you need to do it drill one hole. I also mounted the battery in the trunk.

Muffler
Mounted in the factory hangers.

Exhaust Pipe
2.25" all the way and no cat.

This about does it for my BP swap. The car runs great. Low end is ok but once the rpm's get up it flies. The next phase will be to dissasemble the entire car and repaint everything and upgrade the suspension and brakes. I will be changing the clutch to a performance one. I will be taking many pics of this phase.

The tranny is still the stock Festiva 5 speed and I have a clutchnet 6 puck clutch to install.

11/23/04
Well I've put about 200 miles so far on the swap. Man is it fast. Real scary with the stock suspension and accelerating to 85 in 3rd gear. Not to mention that I cannot stop as fast as I can go. Gas mileage sucks, but that could be because all I want to do is race it everywhere I go. I'll drive it for a few more weeks then start the disassembly.

Got an Aspire brake setup
Pretty rusty. I'll buy new pads, shoes, calipers, wheel cylinders, and brake lines. The rotors and drums actually had enough to clean up when they were turned. The beam, spindles, etc. will be cleaned, epoxy primed and painted black. The drums, rotor hubs and calipers will be painted the color I decide to paint the car. Update: Found another Aspire brake setup from a car with 51,000 miles and everything is in great shape, this setup will go on my car.

I think I will paint the car Jazz Blue from the 2003 VW GTI. Link to Jazz Blue Paint. Possibly some white stripes, still deciding.
