I made it to the dyno before winter!
Above: no air cleaner and uncapped exhaust, best run of the night(well...the second run in this vid)!
Above: run with exhaust runnin thru the mufflers, I'll be headin back there next summer, she's still runnin a wee bit rich, should free up some more power with leaner jets.
Racing at Sunset dragway in mercer Pa.
Me beating my buddys mustang gt
And a built ford maverick getting away from me! I need slicks! Listen for my uncapped headers though! I love that sound!

I'VE BEEN A BIT BUSY SINCE THE LAST UPDATE! Now I need to get ready for winter >:(

HAD TO RAISE MY HOOD SCOOP UP 1/2" WITH A PIECE OF PLEXI-GLASS, CAN'T HARDLY TELL!

AS YOU CAN PROBABLY TELL A LITTLE HERE, I WAS A BIT NERVOUS ABOUT MY HOOD CLEARANCE!

I HID MY OVERFLOW TANK BEHIND MY GRILLE ALONG WITH MY TRANS COOLER, MY REMOTE BREATHER TANK WILL KEEP THE OIL VAPOR FROM COLLECTING ON AND STAINING MY VALVE COVERS.

HERE IS THE INSTALLATION OF MY "PYPES" MANDREL 3" X-PIPE SYSTEM WITH 40 SERIES FLOWMASTERS! THIS THING SOUNDS GREAT!

Had to fix a rust hole in the rear body while the gas tank was out

I gotta get better pics with the battery box back there, nice satin black!

I removed th front clip to paint the engine compartment, no use putting that shiny new motor in that shithole!

Need to do some cuttin'!

Tired 307 yankin! Finaly!

Completed A/C box notch

Just needs some paint and a motor!

I WENT WITH VIPER RED FOR MY ENGINE BLOCK, I THINK IT WILL LOOK GREAT IN MY ENGINE COMPARTMENT, AS IT'S GOING SATIN BLACK.

racing at pittsburgh raceway park, I ran a 15.78 on dail this time and finally lost! only 2 left of 6 rounds from winning the bracket!

this is my 1984 hurst olds cutlass,
my car isnt nearly as slow as it was, the rear end was definitely the problem, the 3.73 posi was a good street choice.

at least it looks good now, when i got it it had one boner of a paint job, the tops felt like 36 grit sandpaper.i have some before pics lower in the page.

also,i blew my tranny, and had it gone over, i figured id show you a sad pic of my car,

here is me drag racing at the flashlight drags at the zelienople airport!

for more info on the drags, see
www.alteredgas.com

here are pics of 3 of our cars together
(each have their own cardomain site, see friends list)

also, why my car was so rediculously slow, 1984 hurst editions came with the large 8.5 rear with 3:73s, well somewhere along the line, i guess the rearend blew and they put in a 7.5 rear, open end with like 2:10 gears, so the next thing on the list was a 7.5 posi unit with 3.73s, that helped! that got me into the 16 second range!

i also did some suspension work, i bought brand new gm upper A arms(complete) for the front, and installed UMI Performance tubular lower control arms and UMI double adjustable upper control arms and all new polyurethane bushings

my wife and my car, hey it IS possible to have both!

rather than paying $400 for the factory decal kit, i painted on the larger red stripe, the top stripe is just plain pinstripe, and the hurst olds name decals were custom cut at my dads work.

the factory chrome olds rallys, badass!!
the centers need panted silver and the need re-striped, but thats a winter project.
heres another unique attribute to the hurst olds, the hurst lightning rods!!!

and my digital dash, as cool as looked, it has been replaced with the factory unit, anyone who has had a digital dash can probably tell you, they are not the most reliable guages on the planet. AKA they suck!

next i am looking for all the info in the world on this, my ttops, check out the distance from the wind shield trim to the ttop, about four inches, well 99% of all the other g bodies i have seen are only about 1 inch. i have seen them enough on other cutlasses that i am convinced that they are some kind of aftermarket, but i am still looking for a back up set, weather stripping, etc.

anyway this is the coolest daily driver i could ask for, future plans include redoing the interior, and building a 455(ITS COMING!) to replace the tired 307. RATE MY RIDE!!!
now here is what my car looked like when i bought it, a nice solid car with a crap paintjob, perfect! also i do take pride in the fact that i do all my own work, aside from the tranny rebuild (though i removed/installed it myself)

this is a view in the shop i work in, fun? HELL YES!
