Performance update for Honda Accord Aerodeck EXi
Major goal is ~300hp & 400Nm and ability to use in daily use!
========================8Update 18.03.2006:
Ok, i was lazy,.. I have all parts allready workking but i didn't get pictures yet online. My bad. But..
Ok, i had some motorbrake donw. I broke 3 pistons of 4 after 70km (~50ml) driving. I don't exactly know what causes this problem but it is now fixed. In few weeks i will go to dyno and our results will be out soon.. :D
========================8Update 08.02.2006:
Mhh, my intake manifold is ready! More information and maybe a few pics later..
========================8Update 03.01.2006:
Still waiting intake manifold from professional welder. He has too much work to do and this kind smaller projects required to give away when big moneys are involved.. Almost rest of parts are ready. Wideband lambda, exhaust gas thermometer & pressure terminal,.. I'd like to buy electrical fuel pressure gauge but those are quite expensive and i'm not sure is that gauge worthless for every day use (so it doesn't need to be inside car's cabin - do know..) Knocking sensor's conductors need to be checked but it is so tight position that i'll do that too when everything else is taked away. But most of all, 300hp, here i come! :)
========================8Update 19.08.2005:
One of my unreserved cylinder heads is now in professional motor-modifier and it is going under heavy modify. Promodifier told me that he didn't seen so lazy&poor exhaust canal for many months! Hmm, what are honda's engineerings done? Anyway, my 300 hp goal demands mods and this is now taken care.
An other thing is poor fuel situation on high rpms. New high volume fuel pump didn't help any, so those nozzles are probably too small (even those are quite big and those should be enought to brake 300hp). Solution: I will add my Accord's orginals nozzles to help things. Example, those 390ml@3bar nozzles alone handles well -1.0bar to 0.4bar or something and after that those honda's own nozzles gives help and then i will get much gasolin burned (or exchaust gas pressure will rise too high and then i have much broken parts!).
So, i will brake 300hv with A20A4 (or may that be A20A8 ) sooner or later..
========================8Update 09.06.2005:
Car is tested on dyno and results are quite good for first try. Engine's have over 170kw@4500rpm (~250hp) and about torque, over 300Nm is available on 2200rpm to 5300rpm (max 370Nm). Engine can't get enought fuel on this setup. New fuelpump is coming as soon as ships sails :) Then i can retest and maybe then i get my goal..
========================8Old car, old tricks.. A littlebit rust in everywhere.. But it easy to fix!
First body and then performance..
New turbo, new intercooler, bigger nozzles, bigger exhaust pipe, etc.. Try find 5 changes from this image to the next one..
answers will be end of this page..
Note how much bigger new fuel pressure regulator is versus an orginal part..
Check nozzles typenumbers if you need a hint :)
New exhaust pipe
I hate bling-bling so i painted all with matt-black.. (and added lame aftermarket exhaust end)
An old A20E4's ecu
And best of all: new ECU! Allmost unlimited possibilities to tune motor in realtime!
..and only a few new wires needed to be assembled!
And after i am ready with motor and chassis I will paint this car & make it shine like Honda's engineerings are designed! Orginal look and sleeper performance is allways in fashion!
First picture was taken when only an turbo assembly was made.
The second picture was taken when every modification are made.
A few differences what you might see:
- pressurepipes painted with matt-black (piece of cake at first)
- spark amplifier added
- fuel pressure requlator changed
- few small metalpipes removed
- a few more rubberpipes removed
- electricity wires added (/and some removed)
- fast-idle-valve removed
- fuel system resistor removed
- ignitionwires mixed (heh, if you noticed this too, you are pro!)
and many invisible modifications..
