Update: 9/30/06
The Solara is gone now. I pulled off a bunch of part before letting it go. I will update the pages on the Project Z and the RX8 sometime in the near future. (See the other rides in my garage for those. I probably won't update the Solara section anymore.)
The current RX8 and the now departed Solara.

Thanks for stopping by and feel free to browse all you want.

(June 2005) Just installed Mike T's upper and lower grille combo. I bought them used from one of my brothers from SolaraGuy.org. Thanks SorkAng724! I think they turned out great.

Changed tires but kept the OE wheels. The new tires clear the struts just fine and give me 3/4" more tread width per tire. That's a significant increase in contact patch.
OE: 215/55R17
New: 235/50R17
Here's a shot of the new tire profile:

Injen Intake: (June 30, 2005)
After a great deal of searching and calls to the west coast, I found a company that could get an intake kit for the 2004 Solara V-6. Injen part number IS2032P. (Same part number on the dyno sheets for Junest's prototype intake.) This took only 25 minutes to install.

Injen IS2032P Intake Kit

The OE system. (Note the factory cold air intake) I will keep part of this to blow cold air onto the Injen filter.

Out with the factory box, filter & clutter.

Added some Faze gauges on the A-Pillar. Oil press and A/F.

Here is the Faze modulator control. Changes gauge color and brightness.

This is an "interesting" addition to my ride. I picked this up at Daishon Temple on Miyajima Island in Japan. It is a prayer booklet meant to provide protection (or good luck) during travel. No incidents, cracked windshields or dings since I've added it. It adds a nice conversation piece that matches the car's red color.

I just recently purchased a set of Anthracite 18" Enkei RSVs. They came with Kuhmo 225/40/18 tires but they are a little small for the Gen2. So I'll remove them and save 'em for the 300ZX Turbo. I have a set of 235/45/18 Goodyear private brands being shipped. I'll post up pics when it's all mounted , balanced and on the car.

In 2006, Toyota will begin construction on a new Technical Center in the Ann Arbor, Michigan area. Michigan sold this land very cheap (all 650+ acres) since it is currently home to the abandon Michigan Facility for Forensic Psychology. (A hospital / prison for the study of the criminally insane.)
The building is HUGE with barred windows, broken glass and one corner with a razor wire fence and personnel detectors. (For the hard core residents I assume.)The creepy building made a great background (and ironic) for a photo shoot of my Toyota. I had to take these pictures VERY fast as I was taking pics between rounds of the security guard in his truck. This was a no trespassing area guarded by the new facility built next door. I'm sure it was my imagination, but I felt like I was being watched from the 2nd floor windows. (Weird)
Here's a good feeling on how big this building will be. (I'm glad Toyota will level it. There must be some bad mojo there.)

A far shot of the current facility and the new facility behind my car.
